By Road to Hagen
Sitting in the too-hot confines of Honiara’s airport terminal, Tony and Fiona were waiting for the flight to Australia. I was off to Port Moresby, thanks to a call from the agency’s director. There started a short microadventure that took me from Lae, on PNG’s north coast, by road to Mt Hagen and back to Moresby.
Along the way I learned about a recycling/small business project, saw the spectacular, rugged mountains of PNG’s central mountain range and met missionaries and highlanders. But, did I meet the people from Wabag whose interest in obtaining a village micro-hydroelectric turbine had brought me here?
